Season of Creation Culminates with the Tree Planting
SATMI celebrated the Season of Creation with joyous activities and challenging messages. To care is to protect, not loading it over, but we are just stewards of the creation. In response to the challenges, tree planting activity materialized last September 26, 2022.
The SATMI community, headed by its director, Rev. Fr. Neil Badillo, OFM, and its Dean of Studies, Sr. Miriam Alejandrino, OSB, went to Barangay Gatungan, Bunawan, Davao City. The gathering began with a liturgy designed to remind everyone of the value of the creation that God has given his people, as well as their duty to take care of it. The whole community planted about 100 Narra seedlings. After responding to the call to care for the creation, everyone shared a boodle fight. Sharing talents like dancing was also highlighted, especially since it is a cultural dance depicting nature.
It is said that all things come from God, and all activities will start from God as we give thanks and adore him for his great blessings. The activity retires as Eucharistic celebration was held and presided over by Rev. Fr. Antonio Maria Rosales, OFM.
