Every year we gather for the traditional celebration of Christmas as an academic community. Consciously or unconsciously we all fall into the routine of the Season. Yet in spite of this, we all know that our laughter and joys are true marks of the real spirit of Christmas. It is this joyful spirit of our gathering that binds us. It is this bond we collectively create and foster that I wish to affirm and celebrate the company. To you, professors, students, formators, confreres, staff and friends of SAT-MI, a very Merry Christmas.
Our Christmas gathering tonight aspires to strengthen this bond, to ensure that we see our vision in SAT-MI realized, signed by our faith in the God who came to be one among us. In this regard, we as an academic community, professors and students, supported by our staff, formators, confreres and friends, must never waver in our commitment and creativity to make our academic formation not only relevant but also creative in the mission impact we are called up by God to go.
This is our life as an Institute. And tonight’s celebration is not separate from this aspiration. Because as SATMI Community, we are indeed called by the Lord to be joyful shepherds around the new cradle of God incarnate in our time so as to enter the doors of the mission of tomorrow.
