St. Alphonsus Theological and Mission Institute, stands in our commitment to promote the importance of recognizing the role culture in missionary, theological and pastoral formation. SATMI affirms that entering into the colors of culture in the profession of one faith, inspires unity, authentic love, celebration, and care for people.
Tonight, on the 31st year of the foundation of SATMI, we are all witness to the growth of the Institute in the service of training missionaries in the fields. Tonight, the dreams of the founding members of SATMI is partially fulfilled as students from the different parts of the Region and different local students, lay and religious, are here presenting a glimpse of the colors of their culture in displays, food, and presentations. From a missionary optic, we can safely assume that tonight’s culminating program and the week-long activities of our Cultural Week 2019, testify to the Institute’s unwavering commitment to the vital role of culture in the thrust of the evangelizing mission of God.
Let all the beautiful shades and colors of culture inspire and push us to create a better world achieved in our encounter with Christ among the lost, the least, and the last.
