Let Justice and Peace Flow: Season of Creation 2023

SATMI Launches the Season of Creation 2023

We celebrate the Season of Creation from today, September 1, until October 4. The Church is offering humanity a window of grace to renew its relationship with the Creator and creation through communal celebration, conversion, and commitment.

The theme for this year is “Let justice and peace flow,” which was inspired by the prophet Amos, who said: “Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!”. As members of that mighty river of peace and justice, we must cooperate as God’s people to advance the interests of the entire creation.

What does “mighty river” refer to here? This is an example of threatened biodiversity. Every one of us needs to become increasingly aware of the fact that our actions are like tiny streams flowing into larger ones. Our combined efforts as a SATMI community must always be in line with the church’s current global trajectory. We are also being reminded in our theological discourses that it is time to repent and change our attitudes and behaviors regarding climate injustice and the extinction of our biodiversity. We are invited to change our lifestyle! We are all invited to join this mighty river!

On behalf of the SATMI Student Council, I welcome you all to our Season of Creation 2023!
