Today is the Mission Sending of our brothers from the Redemptorist Formation Community and the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor (OFM) – students of the St. Alphonsus Theological and Mission Institute (SATMI). This moment is more than a ceremonial rite; it is a living testimony of our shared vision: Formation for Mission. At SATMI, theology is not confined to books and classrooms. It is a formation that springs from the heart of the Church and moves outward into the world. Our students are not merely trained to think theologically but are formed to live as missionaries-to serve with compassion, proclaim the Gospel with courage, and walk humbly with the people of God, especially those in the margins.

Our Redemptorist and Franciscan brothers, shaped by their academic journey and deepened through their community life, pastoral exposure, and apostolic immersion, now take the next step. They respond to Christ’s call: “𝐺𝑜 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑐𝑙𝑎𝑖𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐺𝑜𝑜𝑑 𝑁𝑒𝑤𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛.” They carry with them the missionary spirit of St. Alphonsus and St. Francis, and the prayers of our community. May the sending of these missionaries renew our sense of mission, as we continue to support, pray for, and walk with them in the Spirit of Christ, our Redeemer and our Peace.
